Because work is enough work already.

Procedures

SOPs and procedures people can use.

“Just ask Linda” works until Linda takes a day off. We help get the know-how out of one person’s head and into simple instructions, without turning every task into a novel.

We write SOPs, checklists and handover notes with the people who do the work. It is for Denver businesses where a recurring task stalls whenever one person is out. We watch the real task, write a short procedure, have a backup follow it and name someone to keep it current. The instructions end up in one place everyone knows.

Sounds familiar?

  • “I explain this every time we hire someone.”
  • “We have instructions. They’re for the old way.”
  • “Nobody wants to interrupt her vacation, but nobody knows the next step.”

What we do together

  1. Pick the recurring task. Start with the work that stalls when one person is out. We agree what kicks it off and what finished looks like.
  2. Walk through the real version. We sit with the person who knows it and watch the real thing. The records, the decisions, the exceptions that come up every other week.
  3. Write the useful version. The steps become a short procedure, a checklist or a handover. Including when to stop and who to ask.
  4. Let someone else try. The person who knows it reviews the write-up. A backup follows it. Then you name someone to keep it current.

What you receive

  • Procedures and checklists for the recurring tasks we agreed on
  • One clear home for the instructions and the records they point to
  • Handover notes, with a named owner for updates

Which records, which tasks and who takes it over afterward all get written into your scope before we start.

One page can be a good start.

Take one recurring request. Write down where it arrives, what to check, where the record lives, who can approve the answer and where to mark it done. Add an exception only when it changes what the next person should do. The handover guide below has a template you can try today.

Who does what

Get It Together, Denver does the organizing, on site. Innovation Theory, our technology partner, does the technical work when it is part of the agreed scope. That means integrations, software, automation and AI. Your team approves the decisions and names the people who keep it going.

Packages start at $5,000. Get It Sorted is $5,000 flat. We agree the scope before any work starts. The first step is a free video walk-through. We come to your office after that if it makes sense. A straightforward scope and quote are free too. If working out an estimate means interviewing staff, looking inside your systems or doing technical design, we agree a paid discovery fee first.

Use the office manager handover checklist. Read the guide first, then tell us where you want a hand.

A few useful answers

What is an SOP?

A standard operating procedure is a write-up of how a recurring task gets done. It should say what starts the work, which steps to follow, who decides and what done looks like.

Can you write it without involving our staff?

Not really. The people doing the work have to be part of it. We go through the task with them and they review the instructions, so the document matches what actually happens.

How do we keep procedures current?

Give every procedure an owner and a review date. Update it when the tools or the steps change. Keep the current copy in one place everyone knows.
